"As head of the Chair of Foundry Technology at the University of Kassel, with a vocational qualification as a foundry mechanic, a doctorate from RWTH Aachen University, and extensive professional experience, most recently in aluminum/magnesium die casting and casting development at Volkswagen, I now work with young students and early-career researchers on a daily basis. One of my most enjoyable tasks is to identify, discuss, and implement completely new research topics in the field of foundry technology with them, i.e., to accompany, encourage, and support them on these innovative paths. That is why I greatly appreciate EUROGUSS's fantastic opportunity for young scientists to present their theses, which they have written with great diligence and commitment, to a broad international audience from industry, research, and development as part of the “Talent Awards.” It is therefore a matter of course and a great honor for me to be part of the jury that selects the best theses."
